  • FreeCAD 0.18.4

Install “drawing_dimensioning” workbench

Tool > Addon manager > select “drawing_dimensioning”

Warning

If Addons wizard stuck “Retrieving info from wiki”, it might be due to python version compatibility.

check line 149 in /usr/lib/freecad/Mod/AddonManager/addonmanager_macro.py,

1
FreeCAD.Console.PrintWarning(translate("AddonsInstaller", "Unable to clean macro code: ") + code + '\n')

and change it to:

1
FreeCAD.Console.PrintWarning(translate("AddonsInstaller", "Unable to clean macro code: ") + str(code) + '\n')

Ref. Reddit freecad forum

Though above works for solving stuck, but workbench looks not stably launched on my client. So, I decided to install freecad 0.19 that looks to fix above addon manager errors.

Before installing freecad 0.19, I upgraded ubuntu release from 18.04 to 20.04
